Authors' lived experiences matter to us as much as those of the characters they’ve created. With DVF Book Club, we want to provide an extra layer of impact by highlighting the author’s perspective alongside their story. Since our brand is built on the amplification of female voices, we decided to curate our book selection with female-identifying authors. At the start of each month, we’ll choose our Book of the Month (and add some Staff Picks for extra credit) and host a virtual or in-person event with the author once we finish. To join, all you need is a love of books! We’re excited to read with you.

“Books are a portal for us to identify and empathize with diverse realities. Maybe we will end up reading a book you might have never picked up and you'll end up loving it. Maybe we will read a book that’s been on your list for a while. Maybe we’ll read your favorite and you’ll discover something new. Maybe it will be an opportunity to have a meaningful heart-to-heart with other women. We are creating this space for us and I’m looking forward to having some inspiring conversations!”

This Month's Book
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo
by Taylor Jenkins Reid
Now that summer has made itself comfortable, we're excited to bring you a few scintillating beach reads. June is the month of celebrating LGBTQ+ pride, Father's Day, Juneteenth, and the summer solstice. We hope—amongst the many barbecues and pool days—that you find a moment to read with us. (But we totally understand if the sun is calling your name in other directions.)
Our June Book of the Month is the New York Times bestseller, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid. The novel tells the story of Evelyn Hugo, a reclusive Old Hollywood starlet, and her juicy final interview—which she gives to an unknown journalist, Monique Grant. It is a story about fame, scandal, and love. Perfect for summer.
